The File Menu commands refer to the general project use.
The menu items followed by dots indicate that the command, when selected, opens a system dialog window to let you set the options relating to that command.
The name of the last project will also be shown in this menu (or the last 8 projects), to allow you to open them quicker. Selecting and activating the project name listed with the menu items (if present), will determine the Open command of that same project.
This opens the wizard window to create a new project.

This opens the browse window to allow you to search for a desired existing project.
This command is also available from the Movicon "Tool Bar".
This opens the Download window to allow you to download a project from the connected CE device. For further information, please refer to the section on "Upload/Download Project" in the Movicon CE manual.
This command is also available in the Movicon "Tool Bar".
This closes the resource being edited. If there are no resources opened, the project which is active at that moment will be closed instead.
When more than one project is opened in the 'Project Explorer' window, this command will set the one selected as the Active Project.
This launches the Project into Runtime.

This saves changes made to any of the current project's resources selected in the "Project Explorer" window.

Projects can also be saved when the hardware or software runtime license has been inserted. In this case, you will need to keep the "D" key pressed down and activate the project save command which will enter the application into "Demo" mode and save the project. To exit from "Demo" mode, you will have to close and re-open Movicon.
A window will display to rename the project when making a save of the entire project. This command will save all the files contained in the DATA and IMAGES folder as well as the project's resources. The DATA folder, or the one set as the data folder, contains information on the status of retentive variables and Scheduler plans, which are usually handy to keep even after the project has been saved with another name. The IMAGES folder is also saved for obvious reasons. Folders created by the programmer for other reasons are not saved.
This saves all the projects opened in the "Project Explorer" window.

This menu item gives you access to commands for the project's SourceSafe management. For further information, please refer to the relevant section.

This command opens a dialog window to set the options that relate to the type of printer being used.
The Print Preview command lets you preview the active document page as it will be when printed. This command gives you access to a display area within which other command buttons are available. The mouse pointer automatically turns into a zoom when positioned in the proximity of the print preview.
This sends the currently active resource to the printer for printing by giving you access to a dialog window through which you can set the relevant print options to do so. When you wish to print a document that is different from the current one displayed, you must select it first.
This command is also available from the Movicon "Tool Bar".
The last eight projects opened by Movicon are listed in this area of the window. You can click on the project name directly to open it without using the selection window presented by the 'Open' command to do so.
This used to exit Movicon.
