In this technote, we are going to show you how to import tags into
a Movicon.NExT™

Creation Methods
There are essentially two ways to import tags into a Movicon.NExT™ project:
Importing tags from field devices: you can import tags directly
from a field device by using the Import Tags option from driver
provided by the Movicon.NExT platform. This operation is valid
only for I/O tags which are those used to communicate with field
devices.
Importing tags from CSV files: you can import a CSV file that
has been prepared for this purpose by using the Import-Export
Tags option listed in the Tools menu found on editor's top toolbar.
This operation is valid for any type of tag.

To import tags from a field device using one of
the drivers made available by Movicon.NExT™

the Project Explorer window's tree structure and go to the I/O
Driver section.

down.

open a project in edit mode, then simply:
Look for the Tools menu in the top toolbar and click to open
it.
Click on the Import-Export Tags item from the menu that opens.
Click on the button with the three dots in the window that
opens to open the operating system Resource Explorer and select
the CSV file containing the tags to be imported.
Click on Open to open the selected file in Movicon.NExT™.
Make sure you have selected the Import action.
Set the "," symbol usually used as the separator
in CSV files.
Click Ok to confirm the operations.
Conclusion
Procedures like this one can be used to export project tags in a
CSV file. These operations are an optimal way to manage huge numbers
of tags.
