Movicon Help on Line - Rel. 11.7.1301
The project's Platform properties are used to define which platform (Operating System) the project is to be created on. To change the project's Platform properties, select the project resource item the mouse to open the Movicon 'Properties Window'.
This property enables project development for Windows 32/64 bit platforms.
This property enables the project development for Windows CE platforms.
This property enables project development for Windows 32/64 bit Client platforms.
This property enables the project development for Windows CE Client platforms.
This property enables the project development for J2SE Client (Java to Standard Edition, such as Windows, Linux or other Java-enabled platforms).
This property enables the project development for J2ME Client (Java to Machine Edition, such as JavaPhones or mobile phone platforms).
This option is used to select the license type with which to use for developing the project with. The project can be run with all the Movicon features enabled or run as a "Power HMI" project and, therefore, subject to a series of restrictions as described in detail in the paragraph on "Power HMI Limits". The target license selection is only needed during the project design phase for disabling those functions that are not supported by Power HMI to make it easier for the programmer to create the project. The license types that can be selected are:
Standard = All the features that are compatible with the selected platform type will be enabled in the Movicon editor.
PowerHMI = only the functions permitted by Power HMI and compatible with the type of platform selected will be enabled in the Movicon editor.
By selecting the "PowerHMI" option, the system will be configured to hide or disable all those features not supported by Power HMI, so that the programmer does not insert them by mistake.
When selecting the "Basic" option, the system will be configured to hide or disable all those features which are not supported by Power HMI, so that they are not used by mistake.
Once the project has been developed, independently from the selection made in the "Target License Type" property, all the Movicon or Power HMI features will be enabled at runtime based exclusively on the license installed. However, if a Movicon project set with a Standard License in the "Target License Type" property is started up in runtime on a machine which has a software license for Power HMI (Basic License), this project will be subject to the Power HMI restrictions instead.
Example: When you select the "Power HMI" platform option, the restrictions in WinCE and Win32/64 bit systems will be those imposed by the Power HMI platform (see section on "Power HMI Limitations" ). The allowed number of bytes in use is 512 bytes in WinCE and 2048 in Win32/64 bit respectively. If this number of bytes is exceeded, the project will automatically switch to demo mode issuing a simple alarm message about this event in the output window. The license installed in the machine will have priority over the platform set in the project: a project using the Standard feature (Movicon) with the Power HMI platform selected will, however, be able to use those features not allowed in Power HMI if installed with a Movicon License.
